Foreign Nationals Killed And Missing As Israeli-Hamas War Escalates

Dozens of foreigners reported dead, missing, or taken as hostages in the ongoing conflict

As the Israeli and Hamas war escalates, dozens of foreign nationals are reported to have been killed, missing in Israel or taken as hostages by the Hamas. The war that began in the early hours of Saturday 7, October is on its 11th day of bombardment with non stop Israeli raids. 

More than 3,000 Israelis are reported to have been injured with 1,400 of them killed so far. The enclave’s health ministry reports the latest death toll at 3,300. 

Reports from the Foreign Press Association UK indicate that there are numerous casualties from different nations including more than 17 from Great Britain among them children killed and more missing. “Airstrikes have hit at least 88 education facilities and killed at least 12 UN personnel,” said the UN.

“Fatalities from other countries include 31 from USA with 13 others unaccounted for, Canada has  5 dead with 3 missing, Germany 1, Russia 16, Ukraine 7, Thailand 12 with 11 missing, Nepal 10 and Cambodia 1,” said the latest media reports. 

Brazil has 2 people dead and 3 injured, Paraguay 2 dead, Mexico 2 hostages, Ireland 1 injured, Tanzania has  2 people  missing, 1 Spaniard and 1 Australian killed, 17 from France killed with 15 reported missing, added the media reports.

At least four Chinese nationals were killed and six were injured, with two  missing according to China’s special envoy for Middle Eastern issues. 

“We have hit more than 2600 targets in Gaza,” said the Israeli Defense Forces in Media reports.

The war was instigated by the Palestinian Hamas terrorist group operating from the Gaza strip who in a surprise attack on Saturday 7 October 2023,entered southern Israel. 

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas and reports say that Israel had dropped 6000 bombs into Gaza since Saturday in retaliation

“We will continue to attack forcefully and relentlessly as long as necessary,” the Israeli   air force said on X.
