Ed Sheeran has donated one of his acoustic guitars for a charity auction happening this month and it’s expected to achieve “way past its estimate.”

The singer has donated around 200 lots, including trainers, jackets, and Ipswich Town shirts, and he has even prized his musical instruments for charity.

He has donated them to raise money for the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Bishop & Miller Auctioneers in Stowmarket, Suffolk, will host the charity auction online at 7 p.m. on Sept. 26.

The auction’s signature lot is a Martin LXM acoustic guitar with custom paintwork that was used at one of Sheeran’s shows at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Canada.

The guitar, a gift from Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, is adorned with custom paintwork to commemorate the show.

It has a guide price of $261 to $523 but is expected to fetch lots of interest. Auctioneers say they ” expect it to achieve way past its very modest estimate.”

Fans can also get their hands on Ed’s boxed Lego set, The Hobbit: An Unexpended Journey to board games, including Ipswich Monopoly.

Clare Chater, the director of income generation at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We’d like to thank Ed for his amazing generosity in donating such a fantastic series of items for the auction.

“It’s a truly unique opportunity for all Ed Sheeran fans.”

The lots have been called an “incredibly kind gesture” by Claire Dorman, whose husband James received care from the hospice before his death aged 37.

Dorman said: “The hospice has never faltered in their care for my family, during my husband James’ illness and after we lost him.

“When James and I first started dating in 2011, we spent many hours driving around in his car listening to Ed’s + album; it was our absolute favorite.

“Our daughter and her friends are all now huge fans too, so it’s come full circle.

“Ed’s donation to the hospice is an incredibly kind gesture and the funds it will generate are absolutely vital in allowing the hospice to continue their important work.”

Oliver Miller, managing director of Bishop & Miller Auctioneers, said: “It is very exciting to be able to host an Ed Sheeran auction on behalf of the hospice.

“We know how much of a global superstar he is, and people genuinely love to own something from his own collection, so this auction is a great opportunity to do just that.

“We are expecting global interest in this auction as he is so well known in all corners of the world so watch this space who knows how far his objects will travel.”

The auction will take place at 7 pm, with people able to view products from 4 pm.
