WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump amplified a call from his top diplomat to build new reception facilities at the White House for hosting foreign leaders. Secretary of State Marco Rubio argued that the East Wing Project is essential to national security and diplomatic standing. Rubio said the United States now hosts heads of state in tents on the South Lawn, an arrangement he called unbecoming of the nation’s stature.
