— Donald J. Trump praised independent journalist Emily Miller on Truth Social after she posted a video showing a confrontation with an activist protesting algae at the Lincoln Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “Thank you Emily Miller. You are absolutely fantastic! There are many such people all over as the one you just caught, REDHANDED, who attempt to stop or defer Great Developments, Projects, and even Policies. They stand in the way of Greatness for our Country, but we are winning, and winning BIG, and it is driving those that hate America absolutely CRAZY. We are proud of the Emily Millers of the World. You keep the Artificial News on their toes. They’ll probably never be honest again, like in the old days, but at least they know we’re watching! Trump” on October 4, 2026 at 8:22 AM ET.

This is Trump’s 2nd message released today, and the last post was 2 minutes ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 31 of his 560 posts over the last 30 days classified as Media bias posts.

Trump characterized the activist as someone caught “REDHANDED” attempting to “stop or defer Great Developments, Projects, and even Policies,” and described such individuals as standing “in the way of Greatness for our Country.” He offered no evidence to support the claim. The video shows the activist explicitly denied receiving payment for her protest activity, saying, “I’m not getting paid to anyone to protest. Or to support.”

President Trump is the author of Trump: The Art of the Deal, Trump: Think Like a Billionaire: Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life, and Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
