Trump shares clip of rock guitarist Ted Nugent rallying a Kansas audience against communism and calling on conservatives to bring others to the polls.
WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump shared a video of rock guitarist and conservative activist Ted Nugent delivering a speech to a Kansas crowd, urging attendees to mobilize voters ahead of upcoming elections.
Trump posted the roughly six-minute clip from Real America's Voice, a conservative media network where Nugent hosts a weekly program called “Spirit Campfire” every Saturday, according to tednugent.com. The video captured Nugent telling the audience he refused to let the country “continue down the toilet” for his grandchildren. He called himself “a dangerous force” ready to “fight like the third monkey trying to get on Noah’s Ark.”

Nugent, born Theodore Anthony Nugent on December 13, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, rose to fame as lead guitarist for the Amboy Dukes, a hard rock band that formed in 1963, according to kids.kiddle.co. His first three solo albums — “Ted Nugent” (1975), “Free-for-All” (1976), and “Cat Scratch Fever” (1977) — sold millions of copies in the United States. His most recent album, “Detroit Muscle,” came out in 2022, according to kids.kiddle.co.
Nugent serves on the board of the National Rifle Association and supports the Republican Party, according to kids.kiddle.co. He has been a vocal supporter of Trump and has performed at some of his events. In the video, Nugent praised the U.S. Constitution, the military, and law enforcement. He thanked the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department, the Wichita Police Department, and the Kansas State Troopers by name.
Nugent directed much of his speech toward voter turnout. He told the crowd their attendance meant nothing unless they brought family members, coworkers, and neighbors to the polls. He cited a statistic that 50 percent of Kansas licensed hunters did not vote. He credited an organization called Hunter Nation with efforts to reach those voters through texts, emails, and robocalls. Getting hunters, fishermen, trappers, and landowners to vote could “eliminate the Democrat Party,” Nugent said.

“Vote God, family, country,” Nugent said near the end of the speech before the audience broke into chants of “USA.”
Nugent grew up in a military family — his father was an army sergeant — but did not serve in the military himself, having been classified as ineligible for health reasons, according to kids.kiddle.co. He launched what he called his “Adios Mofo Tour” in 2023, which he described as his last major concert tour. Known by nicknames including “the Nuge,” “Uncle Ted,” and “Motor City Madman,” Nugent has been active in music since 1963, a career spanning more than six decades, according to kids.kiddle.co.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
