— Donald J. Trump endorsed Representative Monica De La Cruz for re-election in Texas’s 15th Congressional District, calling her opponent “Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous” eight days before Election Day.

Trump praised De La Cruz as a “very successful Small Businesswoman” who supports his tax proposals and border security agenda. He attacked Democratic challenger Bobby Pulido on taxes, immigration, and social policy, urging voters to back the incumbent. Trump mentioned a Republican voter-mobilization site (see swampthevoteusa).

The endorsement lands during the early voting window in Texas and could shape turnout in a South Texas district where De La Cruz, the first Latina and first Republican to represent the seat, faces a competitive challenge.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz is doing an incredible job representing the wonderful people of Texas’ 15th Congressional District! A very successful Small Businesswoman, Monica knows the AMERICA FIRST Policies necessary to Create GREAT Jobs, Unleash Innovation, and Restore American Energy DOMINANCE. Her opponent, Bobby Pulido, is a Radical Left Democrat who is opposed to NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY and, if he and the Dumocrats ever got in, all of these things will be terminated. He wants massive Tax Increases, Open Borders, Men playing in Women’s Sports, and Transgender Mutilization of your Children. Bobby Pulido is Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous! On the other hand, in Congress, Monica is fighting tirelessly to Grow our Economy Cut Taxes and Regulations, Keep our Border SECURE, Champion our Farmers and American Agriculture, Support our Brave Military/Veterans, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. Monica De La Cruz has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR MONICA — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! This is Trump’s 15th message released today, and the last post was 1 minute ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 168 of his 564 posts over the last 30 days classified as Elections posts.

De La Cruz represents a sprawling South Texas district that stretches from the Rio Grande Valley into rural ranch country. Her campaign website lists border security, agriculture, energy, and protecting seniors’ benefits as her top priorities, according to monicaforcongress.us.

De La Cruz released a mid-year legislative update on September 4 that highlighted accomplishments during the first half of 2026, according to delacruz.house.gov. The congresswoman secured the passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which incorporated five of her provisions aimed at lowering housing costs. Her office also closed more than 680 constituent cases and returned more than $2.9 million to taxpayers through federal casework resolution.

“From hosting Cabinet officials across the district and passing key legislation like the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, to returning over $2.9 million directly to Texans, I remain committed to delivering real solutions for our communities,” De La Cruz said in the update, according to delacruz.house.gov.

Trump framed the race as a choice between his economic agenda and what he described as Pulido’s support for tax increases and open borders. The post cited three tax proposals — no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security — and accused Pulido of opposing all three. Trump offered no evidence for those claims, and Pulido’s stated positions could not be independently verified from available sources.

The endorsement carries direct stakes for voters in the district. Texas’s early voting began October 19 and runs through October 30, with Election Day set for November 3, 2026, according to swampthevoteusa. Residents of the 15th District who have not yet voted still have a week to cast an early ballot or appear at the polls.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
