Trump Endorses Alex Mealer for Texas Congressional Seat
Trump backs West Point graduate and business executive Alex Mealer in Texas' 9th Congressional District race eight days before Election Day.
WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump endorsed Republican candidate Alex Mealer for Texas’ 9th Congressional District, throwing his weight behind the West Point graduate eight days before Election Day.
Trump described Mealer as a “Combat Decorated Army Bomb Squad Officer” and a graduate of Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School who would fight for tax cuts, border security and energy production, he said in the post.
The endorsement arrives as early voting in Texas continues through October 30, with Election Day set for November 3, according to swampthevoteusa.
Here is the full post on truthsocial: “It is my Great Honor to endorse America First Patriot Alex Mealer, who is running to represent the incredible people of Texas’ 9th Congressional District. A West Point Graduate, and Combat Decorated Army Bomb Squad Officer, Alex knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Defend our Country, Support our Military/Veterans, and Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH. A Graduate of Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School, Alex is also a successful Business Executive who knows the America First Policies necessary to Create GREAT Jobs, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Unleash Innovation, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., and Ensure American Energy DOMINANCE. In Congress, she will work hard to Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Safeguard our Elections, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment. Alex’s opponent, Leticia Gutierrez, is a Radical Left Democrat who is opposed to NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY and, if she and the Dumocrats ever got in, all of these things will be terminated. She wants massive Tax Increases, Open Borders, Men playing in Women’s Sports, and Transgender Mutilization of your Children. Leticia Gutierrez is Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous! Alex Mealer has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Texas’ 9th Congressional District. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR ALEX MEALER — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! This is Trump’s 30th message released today, and the last post was 1 minute ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 183 of his 579 posts over the last 30 days classified as Elections posts.
Trump cast Mealer as a candidate whose military and business credentials align with his policy agenda. He said she would defend the Second Amendment, secure the southern border and promote domestic manufacturing. Trump also linked to a Republican National Committee voter-mobilization page, by mentioning the source (see swampthevoteusa), urging supporters to find their early voting locations and cast ballots before the October 30 deadline.
The post attacked Mealer’s Democratic opponent, Leticia Gutierrez. Trump said Gutierrez opposed eliminating taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security benefits. He accused her of supporting open borders and higher taxes and called her “Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous.”
Texas voters who have not yet cast a ballot face a narrowing window. The voter registration deadline passed on October 5, and absentee ballot requests closed on October 23, according to swampthevoteusa. Early voting began on October 19 and runs through October 30, with Election Day on November 3.
The endorsement carries potential consequences for both candidates in a competitive district. Trump’s backing could drive Republican turnout during the final stretch of early voting. Gutierrez risks being defined by Trump’s characterization if she cannot mount a public counter-narrative before November 3. Voters in Texas’ 9th Congressional District will render the final verdict on Election Day.
Trump used his truthsocial platform on the same day to issue a separate endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel‘s October 27 parliamentary elections, according to jpost. Trump called Netanyahu “an outstanding Warrior Prime Minister” in that post and urged Israeli voters to support him. The dual endorsements demonstrated the breadth of his endorsement activity across both domestic and foreign races on a single day.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
