Donald J. Trump amplified a pledge to gift SpaceX stock to more than two million American children through the Invest America program.

Trump reposted the offer from Gwynne Shotwell, the president and chief operating officer of SpaceX, who said she and her husband would gift a share of their SpaceX stock to a Trump Account for each child. Investor Brad Gerstner framed the move as putting 2 million shares into the accounts of 2 million kids, held until they turn 18.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “Trump shared a screenshot of a social media post on truthsocial. Text visible in the screenshot: Brad Gerstner A (@Gwynne_Shotwell.): Boom! 2 M shares of @SpaceX to the @TrumpAccounts of 2 M kids that will be held until they are 18. Thank you Gwynne & Robert for your extreme generosity. Every child an owner / shareholder in the American Dream! @WhiteHouse @MichaelDell. Gwynne Shotwell: My husband and I are honored and thrilled to participate in the Invest America program and gift a share of our SpaceX stock to a Trump Account for each of more than two million children across our great nation. Every American child under 18 can benefit from having a Trump …” on July 27, 2026 at 7:21 PM ET.

This is the seventh message tied to the topic released by Trump on the subject. On average, Trump produces roughly 15 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025.

The move fits a narrow slice of Trump’s recent messaging, with 7 of his 463 posts over the last 30 days focused on Trump Business & Personal Brand.

Invest America establishes tax-advantaged accounts, branded Trump Accounts, for children under 18. The screenshot describes a private philanthropic gift layered onto that federal framework. Shotwell said she and her husband would gift a share of SpaceX stock for each child, tying young account holders to one of the most valuable private companies in the country.

The stakes fall unevenly. Families with newly funded accounts stand to gain exposure to a closely held rocket and satellite company that does not trade on public markets. Taxpayers underwrite the account structure, while the private stock gift depends on the donors. The claim of 2 million shares held until age 18 warrants independent verification, since the figures appear only in a reposted screenshot rather than a company filing.

The program name attaches Trump’s brand to a childhood savings vehicle, a marketing dimension that carries value beyond any single donation. For an average reader, the practical question is eligibility and whether a child’s account receives such a gift, terms that the screenshot does not spell out.

Trump has repeatedly used his account to reshare and elevate posts from allies and officials. He shared text messages he said came from French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a January push over Greenland, according to forbes.com. That pattern of surfacing screenshots to drive a message continues here.

The next move rests with SpaceX and the donors to formalize the gift, and with program administrators to process the accounts. A date for any formal filing or completion has not been announced.

Rewarding children with corporate shares echoes older experiments in mass ownership. Britain’s privatization drive in the 1980s sold shares in British Telecom to about 2 million citizens in 1984, one of the largest public offerings of its era, and successive sales widened share ownership across the country. Those campaigns reshaped how ordinary households viewed equities, though many small holders sold quickly for a fast profit rather than holding for decades.
