WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump shared a video on Truth Social detailing what it calls failing structural, electrical and mechanical systems at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, casting a temporary closure as the only path to fix them.
The video catalogs corroded steel supports, water-damaged concrete and aging power and climate systems that it says temporary shoring and piecemeal repairs can no longer manage. It frames the shutdown as an overhaul rather than a demolition and promises off-site programming with a later grand reopening.
