FIFA has launched investigations following the alleged racist abuse that the world’s biggest streamer went through during the Argentina vs Cape Verde match.

The American streamer Darren Jason is a soccer fan and was permitted by FIFA to live-stream the event. He was a supporter of Cape Verde, and this made Argentina fans mad at him, and some were even seen telling him to go home.

In two incidents, Speed was seen receiving racist abuse, and the first incident happened in the Argentina vs Cape Verde match, where a fan reportedly stood up and told the American streamer in Spanish to “go cry at home,” while the second time was in the Argentina vs Egypt match, where his live stream captured fans doing monkey-like gestures and shouting insults.

Now, FIFA took action that earned them respect worldwide when they launched an investigation reviewing footage and live broadcast recordings to gather comprehensive evidence. They quickly identified the fan involved and immediately revoked her attendance permit and permanently banned her from all matches in the World Cup, sending a strong message against racism.

Secondly, they privately contacted Speed and offered him their sincere apology and compensation by giving him free tickets for the FIFA matches, together with VIP seats during the World Cup.

Thirdly, they issued a statement strongly condemning all forms of racism, hatred, or discrimination during the World Cup. They emphasized that the World Cup was a celebration of unity, diversity, and respect and that anyone who thinks otherwise or behaves badly would face punishment.

Many say that during the Argentina vs Egypt match, the game was a marketing ploy to ensure Messi stayed in the tournament. This was after Argentina came from 2 nil to 3 goals within 15 minutes, leaving people amazed.

“This tournament is fixed. God is my witness,” said Mostafa Zico, holding tears in his eyes.

Egypt’s coach may face an investigation after his X gesture towards the referee. It is not certain what the coach really meant by the symbol X, but under the FIFA discrimination protocol, the symbol X is internationally recognized as a sign used by players, coaches, and team officials to report alleged racist abuse during a match.

But because it was unclear what he meant, the match wasn’t stopped as protocol; instead, he was only served a yellow card. It is widely believed that a lot of racist actions have been taking place throughout the matches and that FIFA should take action accordingly.
