— Donald J. Trump shared a video on Truth Social featuring a speaker who criticized an unnamed individual over transgender issues and religion.

The speaker in the video called the unnamed person “a freak” and accused him of “going against God” while claiming to be a Christian. The speaker also referenced someone named “Rico,” saying people should not pressure Rico to express support for positions he does not hold. “I don’t have a problem with the people that are transgender and stuff like that. That’s their deal. But don’t push it on our kids,” the speaker said in the video.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “He’s a freak. That’s what it is. He’s whatever he thinks he’s supporting. He’s thinking he’s a Christian, and to be a great Christian, you don’t—you’re going—he’s going against God. Everything that he’s doing, everything, you know, that I don’t have a problem with the people that are transgender and stuff like that. That’s their deal. But don’t push it on our kids, and don’t have people tell Rico to go out there and start saying that he supports this, and then he tells you no, I’m not supporting that when he really is. And that’s all. It’s all wrong.” on October 27, 2026 at 11:58 AM ET.

This is Trump’s 9th message released today, and the last post was 1 minute ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 114 of his 571 posts over the last 30 days classified as image-only posts.

Trump posted the video without additional caption text, leaving the identities of the speaker and the subject of the criticism unclear. The video runs approximately 45 seconds and features a single speaker delivering an impassioned monologue. No names appear on screen, and Trump did not identify the individuals involved.

The post touches on a recurring theme in American political debate over the role of gender identity in education and youth policy. Trump has frequently amplified voices critical of transgender inclusion in schools and children’s programs throughout his time in office. The video’s central argument frames the issue as one of parental rights and religious values, with the speaker drawing a line between personal tolerance and what he described as imposing beliefs on children.

The debate over transgender rights and children has intensified across multiple election cycles. Ballot measures and state legislative fights in more than 20 states between 2021 and 2025 addressed transgender participation in school sports, restroom access, and medical care for minors. Courts struck down some restrictions while upholding others, creating a patchwork of rules that varies by jurisdiction.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
