WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump attacked congressional Democrats after 192 House members voted against a resolution denouncing socialism, calling them the “Enemy of the People.”
The White House list Trump promoted said Democrats unanimously opposed the largest tax cut in American history and are trying to repeal it, according to whitehouse.gov. The document accused Democrats of obstructing measures on tax relief, border security and election integrity. “The Extreme Liberal Dumocrats are OUT OF THEIR MINDS,” Trump wrote, framing the vote as proof of a “dangerous agenda.”

Additional items on the list touched healthcare and elections. The release said Democrats voted against hospital price transparency requirements and had “UNANIMOUSLY” voted against the SAVE AMERICA Act, which would require citizenship verification and photo identification to vote, according to whitehouse.gov. It further said over 200 Democrats voted against restricting federal Medicaid dollars for transgender treatments for minors, according to whitehouse.gov.
The list also cited immigration measures. Nearly 200 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley Act, legislation named for a Georgia nursing student and signed into law by Trump, according to whitehouse.gov.
Public sentiment toward both parties has drawn scrutiny in recent polling. When asked what they disliked most about Democrats, 10% of Americans said the party was weak and did not stand up to Trump, according to abcnews. Republicans’ main criticisms of Democrats included calling them too liberal or socialist, cited by 11% of respondents, according to abcnews.
