Trump shares satirical anti-media video amid press-access lawsuit
Trump posts a mock video ridiculing the press, days after CNN, MS NOW and Politico sued over being barred from the White House.
WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump posted a satirical video mocking the news media, escalating a feud that has landed in federal court over access to the White House.
Here is the full post on truthsocial: “Truth Social post containing 2 videos. Video transcript My life as someone who tells lies all day long. First, I get up, then I put on my fake news outfit. I just can’t wait to make up a bunch of false rumors about Trump today. All right, let’s go bash Trump 24/7. Here we go.” on September 23, 2026 at 12:03 AM ET.
This is Trump’s 1st message released today, and the last post was 9 minutes ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 89 of his 544 posts over the last 30 days classified as image-only posts.
The three outlets filed a joint lawsuit two days after guards blocked their reporters. The Constitution “does not allow a president or any other government official to deprive the press of their First Amendment rights” based on his dislike of their reporting, the outlets argued according to pbs. The White House also removed CNN from its pool duties, which the five major networks share, and no network stepped in to replace it according to wxxinews.
“This ban on the free press harms the American people, who are entitled to rigorous, fact-based coverage of the President of the United States,” said Theodore J. Boutrous of Gibson Dunn, the lead attorney for the news outlets, in a statement according to wxxinews.
The dispute now moves to a courtroom. The three outlets will ask U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Kelly to return the credentials to their journalists at a hearing Wednesday afternoon according to wxxinews. Kelly, a Trump appointee, ruled for Jim Acosta, then with CNN, in 2018 after Trump aides stripped his White House credentials on similar grounds according to wxxinews.
Trump has signaled he expects to appeal an unfavorable ruling. His account on Truth Social wrote Monday that publications “that only write negatively” should not reach “the most important Office anywhere in the World” according to wxxinews. The White House has also debuted its own YouTube®-based streaming channel, Trump TV, to distribute presidential footage directly according to wxxinews.
