Trump Demands Retractions, Says He Was at Ground Zero After 9/11

Trump attacks New York Magazine and reporter Maggie Haberman over their 9/11 coverage, demands retractions and cites video clips of himself at the World Trade Center site.

WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump demanded retractions from New York Magazine and New York Time s reporter Maggie Haberman, insisting he visited the World Trade Center site after the September 11th attacks.

Trump said the magazine wrongly reported he was absent from Ground Zero because no one saw him there. He said he traveled to Lower Manhattan shortly after the collapse with a large group of construction workers and attached video clips to support the claim. He said he raised the matter during his remarks on the Ellipse in Washington for Tunnel to Towers.

Well, I don’t think I would be the first thing on anyone’s mind but, I was there, obviously not on the same day as the collapse, but shortly thereafter, with a large group of Construction Workers. The second figure is Maggie Haberman, whom Trump called “Maggot Hagerman.” Haberman is a New York Time s reporter, according to hindustantimes. She was part of the team that won a Pulitzer in 2018 for reporting on Trump’s advisers and their connections to Russia, and in 2021 she was part of a team that was a Pulitzer finalist for coverage of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus, according to hindustantimes. She authored “Confidence Man: The Making of Trump and the Breaking of America,” according to hindustantimes.

Trump used the same nickname for Haberman earlier this year. He attacked her in a truthsocial post, calling her “maggot” after she criticized him over the Iran war during an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, according to hindustan Time s. He wrote that he was thinking of adding Haberman and some of her associates into his Florida-based lawsuit against The Times, according to hindustantimes.

Trump said he attended the New York remembrance ceremony numerous Time s and that officials are not permitted to deliver speeches there. He said a strong request was made for him to be at the Pentagon, with Vice President Vance representing the administration in New York.
