— Donald J. Trump amplified a post accusing The New York Times of ignoring vandalism at the Reflecting Pool while the newspaper analyzed the site on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

The post, credited to the account U.S. Interior Press, lists specific claimed damage. It cites 342 feet (about 104 meters) of razor blade slashes, “8647” spray painted in black letters on the pool, and “8647” chemical burns on nearby grass. The message argues the newspaper spent time and resources on the site without reporting the alleged vandalism.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “On the 25th anniversary of 9/11,The New York Times spent time and resources analyzing the Reflecting Pool. And they continue to avoid doing any real reporting on all the vandalism that has clearly happened at the Reflecting Pool: – 342 feet (about 104 meters) of razor blade slashes – ”8647“ spray painted in massive black letters on the pool – U.S. Attorney’s Office: ”The NPS employee…stated that the defendant then knelt, placed both hands into the reflecting pool-below the surface of the water-and started to “violently” rip and tug at a large portion of the blue pool coating.“ ”8647“ chemical bums on the nearby grass” on September 13, 2026 at 5:06 AM ET.

This is Trump’s first message released today, and the last post was one day ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 14 of his 600 posts over the last 30 days classified as Crime posts.

The post quotes what it attributes to the U.S. Attorney’s Office describing an incident at the site. That quoted material states that a National Park Service employee said the defendant knelt, placed both hands into the reflecting pool below the water surface, and started to violently rip and tug at a large portion of the blue pool coating.
