Trump Calls Democratic Pollster Doug Schoen a “Stone Cold Loser”
Trump targets veteran Democratic strategist and Fox News contributor Doug Schoen, calling him a “third rate political hack” unfit for television.
WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump attacked Democratic pollster and Fox News contributor Doug Schoen on Truth Social, calling him a “third rate political hack” and a “stone cold loser.”
Trump said Schoen “does nothing but cater to the Fake News Media” and has “been proven wrong so many times that he shouldn’t even be allowed on Television.”
Schoen, a political strategist for President Bill Clinton in the 1990s, later worked as a Democratic pollster. He has served as a Fox News contributor, according to mediamatters. He has regularly criticized and predicted electoral defeat for Democrats since joining the network, according to mediamatters.
Here is the full post on truthsocial: “Doug Schoen, a Third Rate Political Hack, who does nothing but cater to the Fake News Media, has been proven wrong so many times that he shouldn’t even be allowed on Television. The guy is a TRUMP DERANGED, STONE COLD LOSER! Trump” on October 10, 2026 at 2:35 PM ET.
This is Trump’s 18th message released today, and the last post was 3 hours ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 30 of his 536 posts over the last 30 days classified as uncategorized posts.

The attack carries no immediate policy consequence for Schoen or for the television networks that book him as a commentator. Trump holds no formal authority over broadcast editorial decisions. The post does not reference a specific prediction or television appearance that prompted the criticism.
Schoen appeared on the Brian Kilmeade Show in April 2026, where the longtime Democratic strategist said his party erred in condemning Trump’s military actions in Iran, according to podcasts.apple. The appearance illustrated Schoen’s willingness to break with Democratic orthodoxy on foreign policy.
Trump’s public feuds with television commentators have recurred throughout his political career. The post follows a pattern in which Trump uses truthsocial to target individual media figures by name, often questioning their professional credibility. No date for any response from Schoen or from Fox News has been announced.
Schoen participated in a debate panel hosted by The Common Good after the final 2020 presidential debate, where he contended that while Trump showed discipline, Joe Biden ultimately “held up,” according to thecommongoodus. Schoen told the panel that undecided voters represented about 6% to 7% of the electorate at that stage of the race, and he predicted the fundamental dynamics would not significantly change despite a tightening contest, according to thecommongoodus.

President Trump is the author of Trump: The Art of the Deal, Trump: Think Like a Billionaire: Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life, and Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
